Our Educational Program

The Freehold Jewish Center Hebrew School creates a Jewish atmosphere and a love for Torah and Jewish customs. Our dedicated families and staff have a common goal - to do what is best for our students to achieve the love of Judaism.

Our educational program encompasses students from Kindergarten through High School. Aleph through Hey classes (3rd - 7th grades) meet Mondays and Thursdays from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM. Kindergarten classes meet weekly on Thursdays, and Primary I and Primary II classes meet weekly on Mondays. Hebrew High School classes meet twice monthly on Monday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 PM.

Freehold Jewish Center Hebrew School strives to nurture the self-esteem of all of our children. We have also proven our ability to work with students with special needs and to provide them with a Jewish education in a warm and caring environment. Individual tutoring is available for students if warranted.

Every student is required to attend religious services as a means of applying the prayer and Hebrew skills learned in class, as well as to develop an on-going relationship with G-d. Shabbat Morning Jr. Congregation services are from 10:30- 11:45 AM.

Attendance requirements reflect a minimum of the following:

Primary I and II 5 services
Aleph 10 services
Bet 12 services
Gimmel 14 services 5 Friday nights 8 Saturday mornings 1 Havdalah
Daled 16 services 5 Friday nights 10 Saturday mornings 1 Havdalah
Hey 18 services 5 Friday nights 12 Saturday mornings 1 Havdalah

Double Jr. Congregation credits are given for Family Shabbat Programs (After Thanksgiving and Passover dinners, Shabbat Across America, Hey class Havdalah) and the Yom Hashoah service.

Bar/Bat Mitzvah
Each Bar/Bat Mitzvah child at Freehold Jewish Center has his/her own service and is able to choose to participate in Shabbat evening, Shabbat morning, Havdalah or Sunday morning services. Students are taught in group and individual lessons by our professional staff. Bar Mitzvah students are taught tallis and tefillin.
